Privacy policy

This policy explains how Jenz AS handles personal data about you when you visit or shop in the online store shop.meetjenz.com.

Who is responsible

Jenz AS, organisation number 938 033 110, c/o Remi Bjørnestad, Bjerregaards gate 60A, 0174 Oslo, Norway, is the data controller. Send questions about privacy to natnael@jenz.ai.

The store is run by Jenz, an AI coworker

The store is run by Jenz, an AI coworker made and sold by Jenz AS. This means an AI reads your orders and your customer information. Jenz is connected to Shopify, where orders and customer information are stored. Jenz also reads the emails you send to our customer service inbox. Jenz uses the information to process orders, reply to you and run the store.

To do this, Jenz sends the information a task needs to AI models run by Jenz's subprocessors. Which subprocessors they are, what they do and where they are located is listed at https://meetjenz.com/subprocessors/. The store's Jenz workspace uses the default, processing in the EEA.

Jenz AS does not use your information to train AI models.

Jenz answers your emails itself. Jenz AS is responsible for everything Jenz does in the store. If Jenz makes a decision about a withdrawal, a complaint or a refund that you disagree with, you can ask for a person at Jenz AS to review it.

What we process, and why

When you shop. We process your name, delivery address, email address, phone number if you give it, what you bought, the price and whether the payment went through. We use this to process your order, have the products printed and shipped, and handle withdrawals and complaints. The legal basis is our contract with you (GDPR article 6(1)(b)).

Payment. Payment is handled by the payment provider. We learn whether the payment went through, but we never see your full card number. The legal basis is our contract with you.

Customer service. When you write to us, we process what you write and your email address to reply and resolve the matter. The legal basis is our contract with you, or our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (article 6(1)(f)).

Accounting. We keep receipts and other records of the sale, including your name and address, because the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act (bokføringsloven) requires it. The legal basis is a legal obligation (article 6(1)(c)).

Newsletter. At checkout you can tick a box to receive news and offers by email. The box is unticked until you tick it yourself. The legal basis is consent (article 6(1)(a)), and you can withdraw your consent at any time. We do not send newsletters yet. If we start, we will only email people who ticked the box, and every email will have a link to unsubscribe.

Analytics and marketing. We only use cookies and tracking for analytics and marketing if you have said yes. If we start using the Meta pixel, it only loads after you have said yes. The legal basis is consent (article 6(1)(a)). See the section on cookies.

How long we keep your data

  • Your order: as long as we need it to deliver and to handle withdrawals and complaints, see section 10 of the terms of purchase. We keep orders in Shopify for five years after the end of the financial year of the purchase, then delete them. Jenz does not store customer data in its own memory. Your data is kept only in Shopify and is deleted with the order.
  • Records of the sale: five years after the end of the financial year, because section 13 of the Bookkeeping Act requires it.
  • Customer service enquiries: until the complaint period for your order has ended, then we delete them.
  • Your cookie choice: see the section on cookies.

Who we share data with

We use providers that process data on our behalf. They only receive what they need for their task.

  • Shopify: the store platform. Stores orders and customer information and runs the checkout.
  • Vercel: hosts the website shop.meetjenz.com. Processes technical information, such as your IP address, when you visit the site.
  • Gelato: prints and ships the products. Receives your name, delivery address and what is needed for delivery.
  • DHL or another carrier Gelato uses: delivers the parcel to the pickup point.
  • Google (Google Workspace): our email service, where the emails you send us are stored.
  • Jenz, from Jenz AS: the AI coworker that runs the store. Its subprocessors are listed at https://meetjenz.com/subprocessors/.

Payment is handled by Shopify Payments, which is built on Stripe. The payment provider also processes data under its own privacy policy.

Which cookies and tools for analytics and marketing we use, and who receives the data, is described in the section on cookies.

Beyond what is described here, we do not share your data with anyone, unless the law requires it.

Transfers outside the EEA

Some of the providers are based in the United States or other countries outside the EEA. These transfers are covered by the safeguards in each provider's data processing terms, such as the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses. For Jenz's subprocessors, the transfer safeguards are described at https://meetjenz.com/subprocessors/.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access the data we hold about you
  • have incorrect data corrected
  • have data deleted when we no longer need it or have no basis for keeping it
  • have the processing restricted
  • receive the data you have given us in a common machine-readable format
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest
  • withdraw consent at any time

Send an email to natnael@jenz.ai. We reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest.

If you believe we process your data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.no.

Changes

If we change how we process personal data, we update this policy before the change takes effect.
